What We Do
HITHAISHI CHARITABLE EYE HOSPITAL was established on 20th April 2022 with an aim of eradicating of avoidable blindness (primarily). It is being audited with regular submission of income tax return every year since 2023. It has been considered for 12A, 80G and CSR registration, PAN along with registration under HOTA (Human Organ Transplantation Act) & eye bank association of India, for eye donation and keratoplasty.
We focus on education of eye healthcare workers including ophthalmologists, optometrists and para eye care teams which has multiplier effect in quality eye healthcare delivery.
So far it has managed its expenses from the support of Manjunath Nethralaya, on subsidized patients from paying patients but in April 2023, Executive Committee has decided to go for cross- subsidization and also find external funding for non/recurring works like mobile clinics, screening equipment to scale up the eye care treatment close to the community, train the supporting staff (mainly female to educate as vision technicians, computer operators, counselors, customer care executives, from local community.
Mobile clinics and vision centers will be technology enabled (modern equipment for eye test, EMR (electronic medical record keeping) and internet for tele-consultation). HCEH has total number of staff more than 25 including 5 Ophthalmologists in house and 5 Outsourced with total number of trainee students more than 15 for optometry, optical, pharmacy, nursing, lab (Outsourced).

Loss of sight can be the greatest tragedy next to death, yet hundreds of thousands of people in India are suffering from blindness (Avoidable). Participation by the public is the urgent cry in this mission of restoring vision. The hospital began with the motivation and inspiration to serve those people who are deprived of quality eye treatment owing to their economic / geographical constraints.
